5H-MMP This Aztec 250C created an alert on it's ferry flight from Gander to Oxford/Kidlington, via Shannon and Gatwick.
The following traffic was copied on 5626, between Shannon, Prestwick and Ocean Station 'J' during 15:30-18:30
The initial call was that 5H-MMP was ditching near OSJ at 1600 but that he had got one engine running again but the other is now running 'rough'. -MMP is 80 miles west of 'J', bearing 130 degrees. OSJ was requested to keep his beacon on and hold his position continuously.
5H-MMP was then proceeding to Shannon with no more engine trouble and Air Force 72696 (a SC-54D, 42-72696) was on its way. OSJ position at 1600 was 52.33n 20.22w and they advised they would follow -MMP towards Shannon with Air Force 72696. -MMP requests rendezvous with the SC-54 and is on 124.5 VHF.
5H-MMP is tracking 083 degrees, with a ground speed of 137Kts and its last contact with 'J' was at 1606 at a distance of 17.7 miles.
OSJ was requested to listen out on 5696 where Playmate 11 (an RAF Shackleton) will call him. Air Force 72696 estimates intercepting with -MMP at 52.55n 13.05w at 1758.
Air Force 21795 (a C-130E, 62-1795 from Gander to Chateauroux) about 40 miles south of 5H-MMP, advised that -MMP was heading 120 degrees inbound for the Shannon marker but he hasn't the capability! Playmate 11 now in contact with the flight on 124.5 VHF.
Air Force 72696 est' Eagle Island 1722 F060 and 20 miles west of EGL at 1730, est' intercept with 5H-MMP at 1758
Air Force 21795 is going back to his original frequency as the flight is now coming in in 'good shape'.
Air Force 72696 has visual contact with -MMP at 1757 and we are coming into Shannon with him and then returning to Prestwick. ETA Shannon 1837 and Prestwick at 2008.
Shanwick Oceanic offer their congratulations to all and thank you!

This flight later departed Kidlington on 21st May for Dar-es-Salaam.
