Announced that he has a difficulty with the number four engine, an oil leak and request clearance direct to Prestwick at F085. The present position is 66.28n 00.08w 1510 turning for a direct heading to Prestwick. We are already at F085 and will descend to F080 to EGPK/Prestwick.
66.22n 02.30w 1533 F080 AB/Akraberg 1726, negative assistance required at this time. Please call Prestwick Rescue that our ETA is 1950. Ops normal at 1703, est AB/Akraberg 1722, Stornoway 1827.
At 1800 the flight changed to Scottish Centre.

USAF, SC-54D, 42-72547 having departed Prestwick at 18:00 for Lajes, with 17 POB. It had previously arrived into Prestwick (from Lajes) at 16:42 on the 12th April.
This C-54 was delivered to the USAAF on 31st March 1945 as a C-54D and later converted to a SC-54D 'Rescuemaster'. It subsequently served with the 57th ARS, at Lajes, as a HC-54D and on the 15th March 1966 it was delivered to the Portuguese Air Force for spares and allocated their tail-number 7514. It joined four other ex USAF HC-54D's that the Portuguese had acquired for spares, 42-72521, 42-72615, 42-72459 and 42-72575.

RFR NQW78 Ocean Station 'J' asked Prestwick if there was any news on Rafair NQW78 on a mail drop to us? Prestwick said no details available here, have you any more information?
OSJ replied, that a message received on the 9th April said that a Shackleton, call-sign NQW78, would do a mail drop between 12/1410 and 12/1430 and we were requested to keep watch on 3023.5 at 1300.
Prestwick advised that the flight had departed Kinloss at 1100 F080, for an exercise to OSJ. ETA 'J' at 1550 and he is commencing his exercise at 1430. The last contact with him was at 1115, nothing since.
